Australian Flexible Learning Framework julkaisi maaliskuussa tutkimusraporttinsa Networks, Connections and Community: Learning with Social Software.
"There was compelling evidence from the research that social software is valuable in enhancing and enriching knowledge sharing, capability development and the teaching and learning experience, and it should be seen as ‘another tool’ in the organisation’s and VET practitioner’s toolkit. For it to be used successfully however, it relies on a spirit of openness and a willingness to share and collaborate, supported by an enabling culture both within the organisation and the ‘classroom’ environment."
Vaikka raportin kohteeena onkin sosiaalisen median (sosiaalisten ohjelmistojen) käyttö ammatillisissa opinnoissa (Vocational Education and Training) on siinä paljon mielenkiintoista ja hyödyllistä myös mietittäessä yliopistotasoista opetusta ja oppimista.

There was substantial evidence that the use of social software can be an effective strategy for knowledge sharing, capability development as well as a strategy that can enhance and enliven the teaching and learning experience in VET.
Raportin ohella tutkimukseen ja siihen liittyvään kehittelytyöhön voi tutustua Social Software research -wikin ja Social Software for learning -blogin välityksellä. Varsinkin wiki alueella on paljon lisämateriaalia, mm useita kiinnostavia raportteja (Casey Studies, Your Stories) tehdyistä kokeiluista ja projekteista. Wikialue myös jatkaa toimintaansa.
