Course Objectives:

The students will become familiar with policy issues, theories and research (both quantitative and qualitative), and examples about social aspects and consequences of internet use. In particular, you will become articulate in the issues, research and debates concerning how Internet use is associated with digital divides, community and political involvement, and social interaction. You will be able to discuss historical and technical aspects of the internet, positive and negative aspects of Internet use, significant contextual factors, current policy debates, and resources for studying and evaluating the Internet.
