Economic Sociology

8th Annual Conference of the European Sociological Association

Conflict, Citizenship and Civil Society, Glasgow, 3rd - 6th September, 2007

CALL FOR PAPERS OF ECONOMIC SOCIOLOGY RESEARCH NETWORK

Dear colleague,

The economic sociology research network invites paper proposals for the 8-th ESA conference in Glasgow. The general objective of this conference is to attract papers reporting on recent empirical research, theoretical contributions and of course good combinations of the two to assess the general progress but also still lingering limitations of economic sociology. Here, following themes as connected with title of the conference seem to enjoy particular prominence:

-          State and Market: a New Engagement for the Twenty-First Century,

-          Competitiveness in a Corporate Age,

-          Managing by Conflict,

-          Different Roads to Market,

-          Capitalism Organized and Disorganized

-          Financial Markets, Trust and Network Society,

-          The Knowledge Economy.

Deadline: Abstracts should be sent by the 28th February 2007. To submit your abstract, please use the online Abstract Submission Form available from the Glasgow Conference website on www.esa8thconference.com . Decisions regarding the acceptance of abstracts will be sent to you by the 15th of April 2007.

Please note:
a) that the earlybird conference registration closes on the 31 May 2007;
b) that the ESA Executive Committee has decided to separate fees for the Association and fees for the Conference. This means that we all have to register as members (each member will receive an ESA ID number) before registering for the Conference. So don't forget to renew your ESA membership (on the ESA website) as soon as possible.

Looking forward to hearing from you all, with best wishes,

Coordinators
