Grants for International Students
In general, the University of Helsinki does not offer grants to foreign students. Therefore, the primary source of funding has to be found elsewhere.
Here are a few links, that might be of assistance in looking for alternative sources of funding:
- International Scholarships online. A free searchable database of scholarships and awards for students studying outside of their home country.
- Community of Science offers a variety of funding opportunities, but the database is primarly meant for researchers and can only be used from the domains *.helsinki.fi .
- International Education Financial Aid. This site offers a free searchable database of scholarships and awards for international students around the world.
- CIMO. Mostly scholarships for young researchers and university teaching staff. Also grants for students coming from the former Eastern Europe.
- Finnish Cultural Foundation Grants are mostly meant for postgraduate (doctorate) studies. Grants are not awarded to finance undergraduate study nor for student exchange programmes.
