Facilities, Computers and Devices

• One reading room for studying and one periodicals reading room
• Computer lab with 15 computers for student use
• Computer lab with 13 computers that can be used freely by students, when not used for teaching
• 16 computers, of which two have the Linux operating system, scattered around the library, for use by students
• 6 computers for users without access to the Helsinki University network, through which only library catalogues and databases can be accessed
• Wireless and wired HUPnet connections to the University of Helsinki network
• 16 laptops that can be borrowed by students who are majors at the Faculty of Social Sciences
• Printer for students' quota printing in the circulation office
• Copiers; university copier cards can be purchased at the circulation desk
• One of the copiers can used by students for printing outside the printing quota ( paid for by copier card)
• Conference room, mainly for students of the Faculty of Social Science, which can be reserved at the circulation desk
• Headsets for listening to audiovisual material
• Digital tape recorders that can be borrowed by students and staff of the Faculty of Social Sciences
• 10 copies of the Atlas-ti program on CD-Rom that can be checked out for three months by students who are writing a thesis or dissertation in the Faculty of Social Sciences. A recommendation by the advisor is required
