The library has a collection of about 6000 monographs and some 200 series, including periodicals. The collection of the library consists mainly of books and journals related to developing countries and development research (with emphasis on Eastern Africa).

The bibliographic database of monographs is included in the Helsinki University joint catalogue database HELKA and the union catalogue of the Finnish academic libraries LINDA. The collections and services of the library are available to everyone.
