Objectives
The aim of the seminar is to familiarize the student with the practises of scientific discussion and philosophical writing.
Prerequisites
- Basic studies
- Kf281 Seminars: Proficiency Test
- At least one of study units Kf210-Kf270; the seminar essays should be based on the intermediate studies.
Mode of assessment
- Active participation in seminar work during one or two terms (two for major students, only one term for minor students). During the seminar each student writes an essay, 10-15 pages, and acts as an opponent.
- The students majoring in philosophy start writing their Bachelor's thesis during the second term. These students submit one of the two accepted seminar essays to Faculty's International Relations Officer for language revision thus completing the so called Preparatory Essay for the Bachelor's Degree. If the essay is not acceptable the essay must be corrected under the guidance of the language examiner.
