KA7 Introduction to Econometrics

Objectives

The aim is to introduce basic concepts and tools needed in estimating and evaluating regression models. The main emphasis is on basic assumptions and various economic applications of the linear regression model.

Prerequisites

Statistics: Obligatory studies in Statistics(at least 25 credits).

Mathematics: Mathematical analysis or Analysis I and Analysis II or Follow-up Course in Mathematical Analysis.

Minor subject students: study unit KA1 is also required.

Mode of assessment

A lecture course (38 hours) in Finnish, practical exercises and examinations
