S1 Advanced Macroeconomic Theory

N.B. If students have already completed the Advanced Macroeconomic Theory and have included it in their basic and subject studies in economics (in accordance with the old structure of the bachelor´s degree), they do not have to complete this course twice but they should take some other optional advanced courses in economics at least 15 credits.
Objectives
The aim is to deepen and broaden the knowledge of macroeconomic theory and analysis. The study unit gives also an insight into application of research methods in macroeconomics.Prerequisites
Study units KA2, KA4, KA5, KA7 and KA8 and mathematics (25 credits) and statistics (25 credits). Prerequisite for students of econometrics: as above, but it is recommended tha the student has passes studies in statistics (50 credits) before taking this study unit.Mode of assessment
A lecture course (42 hours) in English, practical exercises and examinations.The course will be lectured jointly for students of the University of Helsinki and for students of Helsinki School of Economics.
This course is only meant for major subject students of the department of Economics.
