Target group/Course level
The course will have a maximum of 15 students. The course is aimed to the students of Ethnic Relations, Cultural Diversity and Integration (ERI) Master's Programme. If there are places available other students than the ERI students can also join the course.
Objectives
The course content is to give the student an introduction to regression analysis, with an emphasis on how to do OLS and logistic regression using SPSS. After the course the student should be able to apply regression analysis in his or her MA thesis work and be able to participate in other courses where more advanced statistical techniques are taught.
Completion
To pass the course the student will have to write a term paper. As part of the term paper work the student will analyze survey data which we will order from FSD in Tampere. The paper will be graded from 1 to 5. The course is worth 8 ECTS. Tentative deadlines for the term paper are 15 March for the draft version of the paper (which will be reviewed) and 31 March for the final version.
