Compensations

The grading value of the course is 2 study points and it will replace one book of the study unit M240 or M245.

The remaining credits of the study unit are to be completed in the form of a book exam within six months, at the latest, after the date of the course completion.

Objectives

The course will provide an introduction to the most important contemporary issues in international trade, investment and financial policy, including institutions and policymaking processes, patterns of business regulation and major political problems. Special emphasis will be given to the analysis of current issues and the impact of the economic crisis on the global trading and financial system.

Completion

Lectures 10 x 2h. Short paper 3-4 pages (instructions will be handed out in class).

Grading

Class participation 40% and short paper 60%. The course work will be graded on a scale from 0 to 5.

Course results and retake

The results of the course will be posted on the notice board of the Department. If the course work is not accepted or if the student wishes to raise his/her grade, he/she should contact the teacher within one month after the publication of the results and discuss arrangements for rewriting course work.
