1. Distance Education

Ilmestyy kaksi kertaa vuodessa. Lehteä julkaisi aiemmin Distance Education Center, University of Southern Queensland, Australia. Nykyinen kustantaja on Carfax Publishing, part of the Taylor & Francis Group.

Vuodesta 2002 alkaen lehden artikkelien täysversiot ovat saatavilla  ainakin Helsingin yliopiston elektroniset lehdet -palvelun kautta. FineELibin tilannetta en tiedä (tarkistan joskus). Lehden paperiversio ja  vuotta 2002 vanhemmat numerot ovat saatavilla Hy:n kasvatustieteellisen tiedekunnan kirjastossa. Kotilainaan lehteä ei saa. Lindan mukaan lehti ei tule paperisena muualle Suomeen.  

Vuoden 2003 toinen numero ilmestyi verkkoon marraskuun alussa. Katso sen esittely weblogista

Viime vuoden (Volume 23) ensimmäisen numeron teemana oli P(roblem)-B(ased) L(earning) verkko-opetuksessa. Lehden kaikki viisi artikkelia käsittelevät tätä teemaa:

Toisessa numerossa (2002/2) ei ole yhtä selkeästi havaittavaa teemaa (mielipide), joskin päätoimittajan mukaan The six peer-reviewed articles in this issue of the journal deal with the increasingly popular theme of "flexible and online learning environments." Varmaankin ne menevät noin väljän määrittelyn puitteisiin. Enin osa kirjoituksista näyttäisi käsittelen verkko-opiskelun ja -opiskelijoiden tuen järjestämistä (Learner support, Scaffolding Planning, Facilitating Learning). Sama teema jota käsittelee myös seuraavaksi esiteltävän lehden uusin eli tämän vuoden ensimmäinen numero. Lieneekö kyse "kuumasta aiheesta". Kiinnostavaa voi olla myös Examining Online Instruction vaikka se tapahtuukin in Undergraduate Nursing Education.
