6. JALN
JALN ilmestyy kolmesti vuodessa ja menossa on 8:s vuosikerta. Lehti on vapaasti verkossa luettavissa ja tulostettavissa heti ilmestymisensä jälkeen joko pdf tai html-muodossa. Paperiversiota ei julkaista. Toistaiseksi lehteä ei löydy myöskään kirjaston elektroniset lehdet -kannasta (ejournals).
Julkaisija on The Sloan Consortium eli A Consortium of Institutions and Organizations Committed to Quality Online Education. Maa on USA.
Itseään lehti luonnehtii näin: "The aim of the Journal is to describe original work in asynchronous learning networks (ALN), including experimental results. Our mission is to provide practitioners in online education with knowledge about the very best research in online learning. The Journal adheres to traditional standards of review and authors are encouraged to provide quantitative data."
Suurin osa julkaistuista artikkeleista näyttäisi keskittyvän korkeakoulutukseen, mutta joukossa on myös muita, esim vuoden 2002 toisen numeron teemana on Partnerships for Training (PFT) ja PFT puolestaan "is a group of eight regional consortiums of nurse practitioner, certified nurse-midwifery, and physician assistant programs".
Jos lehtiä pisteyttäisi 1-5 tähdellä, niin tämä voisi olla hyvä ehdokas viiden tähden luokkaan.
Lehden etusivulta löytyvät kaikki lehden julkaisemisen aikana julkaistut artikkelit numeroittain.
Uusin numero 8:1 February 2004 esitellään Verkkopedalehdet weblogissa (10.2.2004)
Numero Volume 7:3 - September 2003 ilmaantui ruudulle syyskuun lopulla. Siinä ei ole mitään erityistä teemaa (tai ehkä mini teema ajasta), mutta kylläkin kiinnostavia aiheita:

Lihavoin tuon Social Presence artikkelin. Teema tuntuu nykyisin olevan varsinkin Atlantin toisella puolella keskustelun keskiössä. Useat muutkin lehdet ovat parin viimeisen vuoden aikana julkaisseet siihen liittyviä tutkimuksia ja puheenvuoroja.
