GLOBAL CULTURE AND GEOCULTURE
Among the various meanings of the geoculture we would stress on its sense of human behaviour adapted to or bearing in mind of the geographical context. The context embrasses the social and natural peculiarities of the place in their mutual (ecological) relations as well as in their advective relations with correspondent features in other places. The paper exposes the concept of the geoculture for sustainable place development. The global (or cosmopolitan) culture generated by the uniform technical progress, migrations and world-wide expansion of some cultural values seems to be in contradiction with the geoculture as a tool for sustainable place development. In fact both global culture and geoculture are realities which may co-develop if an adequate theory and international practice will be established. One of the ways for enhancing the geocultures would consist in representing the geographical contexts in Internet as well asdisseminating the attitude to learn about them from all available sources including web sites.
